Marijuana, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen weapon from Orange County were all discovered by deputies.
Texas’s BUNAH — Following a traffic stop that turned up drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen pistol, police have taken a man and a woman from Buna into jail. Around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a motorist in Buna near County Roads 725 and 731.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered marijuana, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, and a gun that had been reported stolen from Orange County. Jake Tyrone Neal, 40, of Buna, was detained for marijuana possession and felony illegal gun possession.
When Neal arrived at the Jasper County Correctional Facility, it was alleged that he had 28 grammes of methamphetamine and 18 prescription tablets. He was also accused of having a controlled substance in his possession. He is being held in custody at the Jasper County Correctional Facility on $192,500 in bail. Buna resident Jaclyn Connally Cogar, 39, was detained for drug possession. A $4,000 bond was imposed for her.

On June 29, 2022, at around 2AM, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle in Buna, Texas, close to County Roads 725 and 731. A firearm that had been reported stolen out of Orange County was found along with marijuana, prescription drugs, and drug paraphernalia by the deputy during the stop.
Jaclyn Connally Cogar, 39yo, W/F of Buna, Texas was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance PG 328G, and Jake Tyrone Neal, 40yo, B/M of Buna, Texas was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 2OZ (Class B Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon (Third Degree Felony) (Class A Misdemeanor).
Jake Neal was found to be in possession of 18 prescription pills and 28 grammes of methamphetamine when he arrived at the Jasper County Correctional Facility. He was also charged with Prohibited Substance/Item in Correctional Facility and Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 >=4G200G (Second Degree Felony) (Third Degree Felony).
Neal continues to be held in custody at the Jasper County Jail under the terms of bonds totaling $192,500.00 set by Gina Cleveland, a justice of the peace for Pct. 4. Cogar continues to be detained in the Jasper County Jail under a bond of $4000.00 imposed by Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway of Pct. 5.
